Buffett Day At The Fair

   Imagine white sand between your toes, the warm sun on your face, and "all of those Fairgoers covered in oil."  Escape to Parrot-Dise this September at the Tennessee Valley Fair for a night of music, food and fun, all dedicated to the tunes of Jimmy Buffett.

  The Tennessee Valley Fair would like to invite you to a night of Live Music, Cheeseburgers, Key Lime Pie, Limbo, Hula Hoop, and much much more. 

  Pack up your Parrotkeets (children) on Saturday, September 6^th and head to Chilhowee Park for the 89^th Tennessee Valley Fair.  Enjoy a Tractor and Truck Pull, a Live Shark Exhibit, livestock, cheerleading competitions, Fireworks, thrilling midway rides, and best of all FAIR FOOD. 

  Live Music will begin at 7 p.m. in the Pepsi Community Tent.  Remember to arrive at 6:30 p.m. to sign up for the Key Lime Pie Eating Contest, only the first 20 people to sign up will be able to compete. 

  Proceeds from Buffett Night at the Fair will benefit Second Harvest Food Banks “Food for Kids.” The program provides backpacks filled with kid-friendly food to take home after school or on the weekends.

  The Smoky Mountain Parrotthead Club is working to raise money to become a sponsor of a school for the 2008-2009 school year.  Our financial support will help supply new backpacks filled with nutritious, non-perishable food that can easily be prepared by a child. Participating students receive a backpack full of food for themselves and, if needed, their younger siblings throughout the school year.

Lunch will be @ 12:00. The club will provide hamburgers and hotdogs. Please bring a side dish.

2009 Parrothead Cruise

The 2009 cruise sold out in 10 hours!

Response for Parrothead Cruise 2009 has been overwhelming. We have already reached our registration limit of 550 pholks (and then some) and are SOLD OUT. Registration is now closed.

There are still two ways for those who haven't registered to come along with us:

We are holding a raffle to win a room for two including all taxes and fees. We will sell a maximum of 250 tickets for the raffle.

Tickets are only $50 each, or five for $200

If you were unable to register you may join the Parrothead Cruise 2009 waiting list. Waiting list positions require a $100 per person deposit. There are two ways to join the waiting list.

Waiting List Procedures:
A position on the waiting list does not guarantee you a registration on the cruise. The waiting list will be first-come, first-served, based on receipt of your deposit. The cruise will be limited to 475 registrants. The cruise was initially oversold in anticipation of expected cancellations. If the number of registered cruisers falls below 475, the next person(s) on the waiting list will be offered the position(s). We will make every good faith effort to contact them. They will then have 48 hours to respond and register before the offer expires and the vacancy is offered to the next person on the list. Registration will be finalized on or about December 10, 2008. If a vacancy was not available for individuals on the waiting list the deposits will be returned.
